Terms and conditions

The rental Terms and Conditions listed below apply to all of Greece: Mainland and Island. Bookings are always confirmed for a specific car group – not a specific car model. The car on your voucher represents the vehicle for the class(group) you have booked. We cannot guarantee a specific make or model. Any particular car is a typical example of the size, specification and performance that applies to that group of cars.

Rental period

The minimum rental duration is 24 hours, with a maximum mileage limit of 150 km. Bookings of more than three days have 2500 km per rental. If the rental is more than 30 days you have 2500 kilometers per month. The rental starts from the time indicated on the reservation and the return must be made by the time indicated on the contract. When returning, the permissible delay limit is 1 hour. Additional delays are charged as an extra day. The return of the vehicle must be made to the location indicated in the contract and a change can be made – if this is possible – only after contacting TCrentals.

Driver’s age and driver’s license

Minimum age limit is 21 years & maximum 75 years. If the driver is under 23 years of age, there will be a security fee proportional to the category of the vehicle. The driver’s license must have been issued 1 year prior to the rental date. In case the driver is not a resident of the European Union, he is obliged to bring an international license to be able to legally drive in Greece.

Pickup and return of vehicle

Vehicle deliveries/returns are made at the TC-Rentals offices, at the Koropi Metro and at El. Venizelos free of charge. For any other location there is an additional charge based on the respective price list.

 Insurance & Liability Amounts 

Basic accident insurance (CDW): It limits the amount of damage liability from 600.00 euros to 1200.00 euros depending on the category of the vehicle. Damage to the bottom, rims, tires, mirrors, antenna, crystals and interior are not covered.

Reduced liability exemption (SCDW): It limits the amount of damage liability from 300.00 euros to 800.00 euros depending on the category of the vehicle. Damage to the bottom, rims, tires, mirrors, antenna, crystals and interior are not covered.

Full accident insurance (FDW): This insurance significantly limits the amount of damage liability to €0. Damage to the bottom, rims, suspension, tires, antenna are not covered. By choosing this insurance, an amount of 120-400 euros will be reserved, depending on the category of the car, as insurance for fuel, administrative costs and for coverages that are not included in the full insurance.

No insurance coverage does NOT apply:

If the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

For damage caused by driving on unpaved roads.

For damage to the bottom of the car, rims, tires, mirrors, antenna and the interior of the vehicle.

For loss of personal items inside the vehicle.

For accidents caused by a driver not stated in the rental contract.

For loss or destruction of a vehicle key.

For lost or damaged GPS Navigator devices, child seats, snow chains or other additional equipment.

To transport the car by ship without the written consent of TCrentals.

The cost of damage or loss of the car is paid even if the renter is insured by his credit card or some other insurance service. In this case, the renter is required to pay TCrentals the full cost of repairing or replacing the car, which they will then claim from their credit card or other insurance provider.

IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, THE CUSTOMER IS OBLIGATED, REGARDLESS OF HIS LIABILITY, TO COMPLETE THE ACCIDENT DECLARATION, BASED ON ARTICLE K70 OF THE GREEK LEGISLATION.

Rental guarantee

A credit card or a debid card (Visa, Master Card, American Express) is required to rent a vehicle even if payment is made in cash. The rental agency will hold the damage liability amount until the end of the rental and it will be used in the event that additional charges arise that are not covered by any insurance (eg damage to tires or underbody, traffic violations, missing fuel, etc. etc.).

Additional Guide

In each car rental, only the declared driver is covered by the above insurances. In the event that other drivers are also going to drive the rented vehicle, they should be declared in the rental contract at the start of the rental. Required documents are a national ID card or passport and a valid driver’s license.

Additional facilities

Child seats, snow chains, E-Pass, crystal safety and GPS Navigator systems are available upon request for an additional fee. Additional amenities must be specified in the reservation.

Fuel policy

Fuel is calculated in eighths. The vehicle should be returned with the same amount of fuel that was delivered. Otherwise, charges of €10-15 per missing eighth will apply. No refunds or credits for extra fuel in the tank.

Transportation by boat

For TC-Rentals cars, a permit is issued to move the vehicle by ship. In case there is any damage for which it is necessary to return the car to TCrentals, the customer assumes the costs of transporting the vehicle (e.g. crane, transport, etc.) and for this reason the customer may be asked for an additional warranty. Mixed insurance normally also applies on board. In case of transportation of a Tcrentals vehicle by ship without written consent, no insurance coverage applies and the customer assumes responsibility for any damage caused to the vehicle, to a third party or personal injury, either during the transportation process, or in a location where there is no connection via road network.

Restrictions

Driving outside the Greek borders, driving on dirt roads, transporting heavy objects and general misuse are prohibited. Charges of up to €98 apply for special cleaning on vehicles returned with an excessively dirty interior (eg food stains, coffee, salts etc.) indicating misuse.

Traffic violations

The renter assumes full responsibility for any traffic violations and is obliged to pay any debts to the competent services. Otherwise, the amount of the violation will be charged.

Payment Methods & Transaction Security

The rent can be paid in one of the following ways: by credit, debit and prepaid cards of Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Diners.

Using the electronic wallet All payments made using a card are processed through the VIVA WALLET electronic payment platform! and uses TLS 1.2 encryption with 128-bit encryption protocol (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of encoding information until it reaches its intended recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key. Regardless of the payment method, a credit or debit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express) is necessary for guarantee reasons. Cancellation of reservation

Payment in advance:The deposit paid electronically in the payment on delivery option is non-refundable but recorded as an available balance for a future booking.

Payment upon receipt of the car:In case of cancellation of the reservation up to two days before the date of collection of the car, the customer does not incur any additional costs except the advance payment. In case of cancellation of the reservation within 48 hours from the time of receiving the car, the customer pays the entire amount of the reservation.

Payment online:The customer is charged the total amount of the reservation if he cancels at any time.

Contract

Upon receipt of the vehicle, a corresponding lease agreement containing the above terms and conditions is signed. All prices and charges listed on the form are subject to VAT.
